Museo Sans
Body copy
Helvetica Light should be used for body copy.
System typefaces
In some instances, you may not have access to the Museo or Helvetica typefaces. Use Arial when these fonts are not available.
Typography hierarchy
Good
Size
When differentiating different parts of text, such as headlines, subheads, and body copy, it’s important to use adequate contrasts in sizes.
+
Better
Weight
Using different font weights can also help show hierarchies and allow the reader to better navigate the text.
+
Best
Color
Color adds another way to differentiate hierarchies. Note that only full value colors should be used for typography on white backgrounds.
Handwritten fonts and actual handwriting
NEVER
Using digital handwritten fonts should be avoided because they are often overused and appear too consistent and obviously fake. This leads to graphics that appear cartoon-like and inauthentic.
RARELY
Actual handwritting is acceptable but should be used infrequently. When professionally lettered, it can show a level of thought and craft that’s missing when simply using a font.
